Ventilation in Child Care

March 18, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Ventilation in Child Care: CDC posted a resource on ventilation in schools and child care facilities, which pulls information from across various CDC webpages to a centralized location. The resource covers five key strategies schools and child care programs can use to improve ventilation in their programs. Key strategies described in more detail include: 1) Bring in as much outdoor air as possible, 2) Ensure Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) settings are maximizing ventilation, 3) Filter and/or clean the air in your school or childcare program, 4) Use exhaust fans in restrooms and kitchens, and 5) Open windows in transportation vehicles.

New Webinar: A two-part webinar series from the Children’s Environmental Health Network and Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units will be held in March. Both webinars will cover the latest science-based recommendations and best practices for keeping child care settings healthy and safe during the pandemic. The first webinar will cover how to safely clean, sanitize and disinfect in child care settings during the COVID-19 pandemic (Thursday, March 11, 1pm ET). The second webinar will cover how to improve ventilation in early care and education facilities (Thursday March 18, 1pm ET).
