Dear Triad Early Childhood Council members,
Many of you may have heard that Jefferson County Public Health was appointed by County Commissioners to "be the convening entity" for the Early Childhood Council serving Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin counties. While Jeffco Public Health and other entities have made public announcements to this effect, there has been no official communication to the Triad Early Childhood Council from the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) regarding a change in our designation. Triad ECC remains in good standing and our contract was renewed in 2025.
We have been in contact with CDEC and have expressed concern about statutory interpretation, timing, and motivation behind this action. We are awaiting CDEC’s response to our most recent communications and are evaluating available options.
We maintain our commitment to authentic partnership, service to the early childhood community, and work on behalf of young children and their families.
